There are many different approaches to permanent makeup: especially when it comes to eyebrows! Each technician will have his/her own approach, based upon what they feel works, and looks best. Always be sure that your personal taste, and the taste of your technician matches up nicely.
To help you navigate the world of permanent makeup, I have create a simple guide below to outline the most common and basic permanent makeup techniques when it comes to eyebrows. Each has its pros and cons, which are important to note as you explore what option is best suited for your taste.
Pros: This is a great look for someone who has full eyebrows already & would just like to create a look that is similar to when you pencil in your brows.
Cons: This look can be bad news for someone who is looking to fill in very sparse areas, especially of your brow head (front of the brow). This can often look un-natural. Again, this look is great for simply adding depth to the color of your brow, when you already have a full brow.
Pros: Hair stroke brows again, are great for men & women looking to recreate sparse areas of the brow.
Cons: The fine lines of a hair stroke are very important. The quality of the machine & disposable needles are important to ensure a natural outcome using this method.
Feather Touch, Eyebrow Embroidery, & SofTap:
Pros: These methods all utilize manual tattoo techniques that do not involve a machine. They mimic hair stroke techniques, but with more control and accuracy, ensuring softer, more natural results.
Cons: In some cases, manual techniques may require touch-ups sooner than machine methods. But this is always dependent on skin type, texture, and lifestyle.
To ensure that you will be getting eyebrows that you are completely happy with, it is best to consult with your technician about your wishes and desires! My hopes are that this simple guide helped you navigate what technique may be best suited for you.
Cheers to your beautiful brows!
